How to Know if There is Lead in Your Drinking Water

Lead contamination in home drinking water usually comes from water that sits in plumping that contains lead. As the water sits in the pipes, lead leaches into the water. Hot water leaches more lead that cold water.

If you notice blue/green staining from the water in your home, seriously consider installing one of the several treatment methods that are effective at removing lead: activated carbon filtration or reverse osmosis (make sure the water filters are NSF certified to remove lead).
