Bottled Water VS Tap Water

Consumers today spend more on bottled water than they do on gasoline. The price of bottled water is higher per gallon than the price of gas, which we all complain is way too high. Bottled water has become so popular that no matter where you go you'll see people carrying a bottle of water, sipping it on buses, trains, in the park, the grocery store and just about every where else.

But what makes bottled water so expensive? Is it because it's special water? In fact, it's because of packaging and marketing that bottled water is so expensive. Bottled water is just water, perhaps from a spring in the earth or even from a public water supply.

Some bottled water has had all minerals stripped from it, and then certain compounds put back into the water to control the taste of the water. Other bottled water is water that has been filtered either through reverse osmosis and carbon filters. Some bottled water has even been found to contain more contamination that untreated tap water.

So how can you beat the high cost of bottled water? Read our article "Bottled Water Direct from the Tap" and learn how you can bottle your own water for as little as two cents per day.
